In all, the festival will host more than 60 bands over the two days.

With an extensive background in the music business and live show promotion, promoter Rob Mason has modeled the Indianapolis Metal Fest to encompass all sub-genres of metal for a well-rounded and diverse lineup of bands.

Mason also remains committed to his original vision of shining the spotlight on the Indianapolis metal scene and the bands who grind it out in local venues every day.

"Even though the fest has increased in size, I'm very dedicated to the idea that IMF will be a catalyst to present opportunities to local and regional talent," he said. "A band we put on the stage at IMF last year was signed as a direct result of their performance. They weren't a local band, but the opportunity was there."

Tickets cost $30 in advance/$40 at the door for a two-day admission.

All tickets are general admission.

Indianapolis Metal Fest II is an all-ages show. "

From our beloved A.S. Ashley in Pomona, the site of the quake...
Wednesday 07-30-2008 9:29am PT
Here's the picture I took, just one door east of my loft...before the media circus showed up.

"...Something you guys would appreciate...with there being so little damage near the quake site, this brick pile became THE video location of choice: CBS; NBC; ABC; FOX; NIGHTLINE; THE EARLY SHOW; and every friggin' Newspaper in Cali clogged my alley to get the best scoop available.

It started when my artist buddy, Juan Thorp, took a pic of the site and sent it in to ABC. The second they aired the photo, there literally was a national race to get the first bit of footage...And they're STILL here!

Now, not to say that the shaker didn't rattle my place, 'cause it did (My Loft is a 25' X 60', 15 foot high, brick box)! The best story from the Quake is when I went around to see how my fellow artists faired in the tremor. On the other side of our cluster of lofts lives our blessed Father Bill, A REAL Catholic priest who is a very successful painter in the Arts Colony.

I asked the Padre what he did when the quake slapped his studio around, "I was painting" he said calmly.

"Then what did you do?"

"I continued painting."

"WHAT...WHY?"

"I'm more afraid of people than I am of God."
