This is special for so many reasons. 1) This performance is 20 years old! 2) This was performed on television in 1993. The actual song wasn't released until the following year. 3) You see that young audience in the crowd? They were generally interested in Neil Young. Like...they got excited about Neil Young without Pearl Jam's help. Ohhh, how I would love to hang out with those people. Those people got it.
This makes complete sense for me knowing that the second song is something Pearl Jam do whenever they're at Bridge School Benefit (a charity event organized by Neil Young). I tell ya, those people in '93 need to come around more often.
This is, by far, one of the coolest shows I have ever been to...even though I possibly had pneumonia and people were being obnoxious during Elvis Costello's set. Really, really cool thing to experience and I'm lucky to have a fella who helps me have these kinds of experiences. Look at Eddie and his two tambourines. Show off.
