This is special for so many reasons. 1) This performance is 20 years old! 2) This was performed on television in 1993. The actual song wasn't released until the following year. 3) You see that young audience in the crowd? They were generally interested in Neil Young. Like...they got excited about Neil Young without Pearl Jam's help. Ohhh, how I would love to hang out with those people. Those people got it.
This makes complete sense for me knowing that the second song is something Pearl Jam do whenever they're at Bridge School Benefit (a charity event organized by Neil Young). I tell ya, those people in '93 need to come around more often.
This is, by far, one of the coolest shows I have ever been to...even though I possibly had pneumonia and people were being obnoxious during Elvis Costello's set. Really, really cool thing to experience and I'm lucky to have a fella who helps me have these kinds of experiences. Look at Eddie and his two tambourines. Show off.
Oh HEY, Linkin Park fans! Time to dust off that easel.

Shiny Toy Guns will be doing an acoustic set at KRAB Free 4 All next month! I am SO looking forward to seeing them do this. Love love love. Have I mentioned how lucky I am to be able to see shows like this as part of my job?
Jay Z is a music lover. He works in music, so he should be. If you're thinking, "Why are these rock bands joining a festival put together by a rapper?" please re-think for a second. Jay Z again proves how eternally cool he is by booking a bunch of rock/alternative acts to his Made in America Festival. Not that he hasn't done something like this in the past, since Pearl Jam were one of the headliners for last year's festival.
Included for 2013? Nine Inch Nails, Queens of the Stone Age, Phoenix, Imagine Dragons, The Gaslight Anthem, Walk the Moon, and more. Good. Lord. Yes, Jay Z. Yes. And I won't even lie, I'd kill to see him and/or Beyonce too.

Meanwhile, please enjoy Pearl Jam joining Jay at last year's event. I have yet to ehar a bad version of "99 Problems." Naughty words, blah blah blah.
Their new song, "I Will Steal You Back" is the first single off their upcoming album Damage (out June 11). What say you?

I seriously LOVE that these children aren't completely sure about who Garbage are and what they do (outside of Rock Band) and they get to interview the band. I have been preparing for an interview with them since I was around 15 or 16 and I would not be as calm and cool like these girls. So awesome, by the way, to hear Butch drop Space Ghost on these kids.

...featuring Slipknot for, like, three seconds here and there. Whateva. I'm not just posting this because it's one of my favorite things from Conan's Late Night years, but because of how patient and awesome the dudes from Slipknot were.
