...that won't take off.
Foo Fighters joined CCR's John Fogerty for an upcoming compilations album to cover the song "Fortunate Son." Is it still a cover when the writer of the song is singing his own song? *shrug*
Via Rolling Stone:
For his upcoming collaboration album Wrote a Song for Everyone, John Fogerty joined the Foo Fighters in their Los Angeles studio to record Creedence Clearwater Revival's 1969 anti-war anthem "Fortunate Son." At the studio, Fogerty hashes out that irresistible guitar lick while Dave Grohl, on rhythm guitar, helps him wail "It ain't me," a striking meeting of a rubric rocker and his amped apprentices. "It was palpable, the air," Fogerty says. "You could tell a band was in there. It was a unique group of people."
