Recently, Rolling Stone did a poll to see who readers thought should be going into the 2014 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductions. The list is as follows:
1. Deep Purple
2. The Smiths
5. The Moody Blues
6. Cheap Trick
7. Warren Zevon
8. Gram Parsons
That entire list deserves to be inducted and I think the Hall of Fame need to step up their game. Check out the full story HERE . It has to be at least 25 years since the release of a band's first album to make them eligible. Yes, that's right. It's going to be 25 years for Nirvana. Good. Lord. 25 years. *shakes head*
While it's cool to see deserving artists/musicians/producers/writers and so on get recognized, the Hall of Fame has missed out on a lot of bands. I got out my fancy Retro Calculator and did some quick research. Know who's missing? SOUNDGARDEN. Depeche Mode. The Eurythmics. The Cure. Jane's Addiction. The B 52s. New Order. Pantera. The Pixies. Duran Duran. Even Barry White. What theeee hellllll? The list goes on and on and I would have to spend an entire week to make a bigger list. I'm even considering turning this list o' awesome into an upcoming show.
Are there any bands that you think deserve to be inducted? I'd like to hear/read your thoughts!
With all of that said, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremonies seem like a pretty amazing experience. This is probably one of my most favorite performances from the ceremony. Prince. That talented a-hole. Just. Prince. Because he's Prince.
