Ya'd think things would slow down after Thanksgiving, but NOPE. There's a lot going on in Bakersfield this weekend! Here are some of those events!

Friday

Go check out the Pragmatics and The Easy for the Canned Ska Drive! Enjoy an awesome show and bring canned goods to donate for those in need! The show will be happening at 6 p.m. at World Records on F Street!


Over at NxCaffe, it's the closing reception of their Stone Soup exhibit! Check out works from local talent including Jorge Guillen, Alexandra Ortiz, Donnel Lester, and Julie Jordan Scott! Enjoy refreshments, opportunities to speak with the artists, and a performance from Marc Irving Weber!


The Architecture are hitting up Sandrini's on Friday! They'll be joined by Funeral Club, The Volume, and the Parrafins! Show starts at 9 and it's only $5 to check out some great local music!

It's closing weekend of A Day in the Death of Joe Egg! Head over to The Empty Space to see their adaption of this Tony Award- winning dark comedy! "A courageous and meaningful play, JOE EGG cleverly finds great humour and then the harsh reality in dealing with one of life's cruelest twists." Some local favorites are involved in this show including Ellie Sivesind, Amy Hall, and Bob Kempf! Shows start at 8 p.m. for both Friday and Saturday.


Before and after the show (or during intermission) make sure to take a look inside The Empty Space Gallery! Super-duo Eric Tolley and Michelle Guerrero put together a lovely exhibit called Light Living that shows the work the two put into elaborate and detailed lighting displays.

Saturday

Relay for Life team Team G.E.E.K. are at it again, this time raising money for the organization with a Holiday Bazaar! Many businesses will be joining in on the event Saturday at the Harvest Hall at Kern County Fairgrounds on Saturday! Have a look at their flyer and be ready to shop local for the holidays!

If you're dreading your work's upcoming office party, get set in the right mood on Saturday at Sandrini's! It's the 2012 Christmas Party with Mento Buru and DJ Mikey! Grab a drink downstairs at Sandrini's and dance to the "FUNKY LATIN SKA REGGAE HIP-HOP PUNK JAZZ! IRIE!" Yeah! The show will start at nine!


Sunday


Need more shopping to do? For another GREAT cause? Why not check out the Spoiled by Santa Christmas Bazaar?! On top of your opportunity to do some shopping, you will also have the opportunity to donate items to the Homeless Shelter. Toys and items for all ages are welcome as donations! Join them 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday at 10014 Rosedale Hwy and get more information from the flier below!


Also on Sunday, the Bakersfield Community Concert Association presents The All-American Boys Chorus! Get in the holiday spirit as this Chorus provide you with amazing renditions of Christmas music!
