Here's some new music from The Architecture!
Metalachi is back in town and they've got Meditated Assault with them! The show will be at B Ryders on Friday, with the show kicking off at 8! More info HERE!
Over at Sandrini's, celebrate Dias De Los Muertos properly! Join Mento Buru and DJ Mikey for a Dias De Los Muertos Pachanga! Only $5 to get in and make sure to keep that sugar skull makeup on!
Saturday at On the Rocks, it's the Ultimate 80s Party with Members Only! The fun kicks off at 9 that night, so make sure to show up in time to grab a table! Get more info on Members Only at http://www.membersonlyrocks.com/
And, if you're looking for something to do on a Sunday afternoon, why not head over to The Mint and check out music from Choirs, The Volume, Redadare and The Spirit of St. Louis for FREE. More info HERE
ART!
I'm going to swing by the Bakersfield Museum of Art's Alteras de Familiatomorrow for First Friday. This is a beautiful event giving families the opportunity to set up and design alters for lost family members. Remember: people are encouraged to wear makeup and dress up for the evening. Don't be shy! The girls from The Skulltique will be there in case you are under accessorized.

The Bakersfield Independant Film Festival is finally back! Check out some of the creative works from local filmmakers, including people from Hectic Films, Plastic Flowers, Ratio Entertainment, and more! The event is happening at The Empty Space on Oak Street all weekend! More info HERE or at www.esonline.org
Also at The Empty Space on Friday and Saturday...The Rocky Horror Picture Show presented by The Velvet Darkness!
At the Padre, please go have a look at Hooves and Horns. This is the work of Christina Sweet of Sweet Designs and The Foundry. I am an animal lover and a fan of this woman in general. Example piece from the show:

Speaking of The Foundry, they have an event for First Friday as well! Lively Little Things displays the works of Ashleymarie Sey-Lively. Ohhhh my goooosh, this lovely lady. She gives her art (acrylics, drawings, pen and ink, watercolors, everything) a Disney'esque slant. I am absolutely in love with her stuff. Music, by the way, will be provided by Therese Muller! You can get more info on Therese at http://theresemullermusic.com and more on the art of Ashleymarie at http://seystudios.net/

Theatre! CSUB's Theatre department is doing their rendition of Dracula this weekend! Show times are 1-3 Friday through Sunday. If you are familiar with the Dore Theatre (we're doing another acoustic show there on Monday!), then you know it can hold plenty of people. If you want to see some good theatre on a weekend, I suggest you check it out!
Over at Bakersfield Community Theatre, you can still check out Once Upon a Midnight Dreary, a show that is larger than life (puppets!) and brings you a story inspired by some of Edgar Allen Poe's greatest characters.
