If you're DYING to have a run in with a clown so you can achieve some pants-peeing, make sure to head out to Talladega Frights! Danny Spanks will be out there Friday night, I'll be there Saturday! We'd love to see you! Uh, we'd love to see you scream like a little girl, that is.

Friday at The Dome take in some badass music! Reliance, Knuckleup!, Hammerfist, and Domination! The show will kick off around 6:30 and tickets are only $10! If you're looking to get more info, click HERE!

Check out our fellas from Nyceria on Friday at B Ryders! They'll be joining Gemini Syndrome and Fear and the Nervous System (with Munkey from Korn!). Best of all, the show is all ages and tickets only cost $15! Get more info from Nyceria, by the way, through their Facebook Page.

Mento Buru will be hitting up On the Rocks on Friday night! They're joined by DJ Mikey and Las Cafeteras! Show kicks off around 9 and, of course, more info can be found via On the Rocks! They've got other stuff going on, so make sure to check out their schedule of events!

If you're looking for some cool music with a good view, check out the Ross Hammond Trio and local trio Not Twice this Sunday at Metro Galleries! This all ages show is only $5 and will kick off around 2 p.m.

Alexandra Ortiz is having a good run over at the Nx Caffe on North Baker! Open gallery hours will be going on Friday. so make sure to head over to see what's going down with local art! Also...make sure to check out Alex's blog riiiiiight here!

By the way, Alex is one of the MANY artists involved with Out of the Ashes: Bakersfield's Sixth All Women's Art Show. While the closing reception will be on October 28th from noon-four, you CAN view the gallery full of art all month. The lovely Camille Gavin for The Bakersfieldf Californian wrote up a great piece on the show if you want some more info. If you're at The Empty Space to check out any shows this weekend, I demand...DEMAND...that you give the gallery a view. It's quite good.

Speaking of The Empty Space, they have two productions happening this weekend! If you're like me, you would watch "Mystery!" on PBS with your mom. Shuttup, no regrets! The artwork from the opening scene was always so thrilling to watch. Edward Gorey, the artist behind that intro, is being brought to life (the best way you can with Edward Gorey!) through Gorey Stories! This is something my mother and I would swoon over. The show is closing this weekend, so catch it while you can!

Also, in the late night slot at The Empty Space: The Unexpected Man. This is a love story of a different type, centering on a novelist and a woman who has fallen in love with his words. The show will start at 11 p.m. both Friday and Saturday and will continue the following weekend.

As with all shows at The Empty Space, you can get more info at www.esonline.org
