A Taco Bell ad chastising party-poopers who bring veggie platters to Game Day has been pulled following a Twitter campaign launched by the Center for Science in the Public Interest. "Veggies on game day is like punting on fourth and one — it's a cop out," the ad's narrator sneers, before touting Taco Bell's Taco 12 Pack as a "Game Day tradition" (despite having just "introduced" it seconds earlier). Concerned that the commercial might "discourage people from eating vegetables," CSPI asked veggie lovers to tweet their complaints at Taco Bell, and the company eventually decided to pull the ad off the air. "We didn't want anyone to misinterpret the intent of the ad," Taco Bell spokesman Rob Poetsch said in a statement. CSPI released a statement of their own, thanking Taco Bell "for responding with record speed to address nutritionists' and consumers' concern." Lohan Appears Court in Car Crash Case

Actress Lindsay Lohan appeared in court on Wednesday morning for a pretrial hearing in her car crash case, amid some drama about her health and her representation. Lohan is facing a probation violation as well as several misdemeanors for allegedly lying to police about a crash in Santa Monica last summer. She had been on probation from a 2011 shoplifting case, but it was revoked last month after the new charges came down. On Tuesday, Heller had notified the judge that his client would not be able to attend because she was too ill to fly. “I know there was some drama concerning her attendance today,” Heller told Judge Stephanie Sautner on Wednesday. “I’m glad to see you’re feeling better,” Sautner quipped. Heller told the judge that a doctor had indicated that Lohan had “an upper-respiratory condition” and should not travel, both out of concern for her health and the health of others. Home of LA Times Subscribers Targeted by Burglar Ring

Three men have been arrested on suspicion of burglarizing the homes of Los Angeles Times newspaper subscribers while they were on vacation, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. They allegedly stole $1 million in property over the last three years. Detectives said one of the suspects obtained lists of subscribers who had submitted “vacation holds” to a vendor that distributes newspapers for The Times. Officials said they have identified 25 victims but believe there are more than 100. Sgt. Michael Maher of the Sheriff’s Major Crimes Bureau said most of the break-ins occurred along the 210 Freeway in eastern L.A. County and western San Bernardino County. [KTLA]

Ron Jeremy Critical with Heart Aneurysm

Porn star Ron Jeremy is in critical condition and is being treated for an aneurysm near his heart manager, Mike Esterman, told the website that Jeremy drove himself to Cedars-Sinai on Tuesday afternoon after experiencing severe chest pain. Doctors examined him and discovered the aneurysm. Jeremy’s condition worsened and he was transferred to the ICU. He’s being prepped to undergo surgery, according to TMZ.
