DOUCHE OF THE DAY: Linda Hogan 'embarrassed' about alleged DUI, lawyer says

Linda Hogan (Linda Bollea) was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving.

What is it with rich people and DUI’s? Don’t they have enough money to get a cab or hire a driver?! The ex-wife of pro wrestler Hulk Hogan is "embarrassed" after being arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence in Calabasas on 101 Freeway, her attorney said, Linda Hogan, 53, whose real name is Linda Bollea, was arrested Thursday morning by Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies about 1:30 a.m. and released shortly before 9 a.m. from the Lost Hills station on $5,000 bail. "A deputy saw a black Mercedes-Benz driving erratically on the westbound 101 Freeway. The deputy made a traffic stop of the vehicle on the Ventura Freeway at Kanan Road, Calabasas, to conduct a drunk-driving investigation," a sheriff's statement said. She had been attending a jewelry event in the area and was heading home to Simi Valley when she was taken into custody; she allegedly had a blood-alcohol level just over the legal limit of 0.08. "She’s a mom, so she’s embarrassed about it," said her lawyer, Raymond Rafool. [LA Times]

The reported figure jumped by 27 people in one day, while the death toll remained at seven. Patients in nine states contracted the deadly fungal meningitis after being injected in their spine with a preservative-free steroid called methylprednisolone acetate that was contaminated by a fungus. The steroid is used to treat pain and inflammation. Health officials say 76 medical facilities in 23 states received the contaminated steroid injections from NECC. [KTLA]

A North Carolina woman is in trouble with the law for tattooing her 11-year-old daughter, according to a published report. Odessa Clay, 30, of Grantsboro in Pamlico County has been charged with one count of tattooing a person under age 18. In North Carolina, it’s illegal to tattoo a minor. Clay was arrested and charged in late September after police in Havelock, where she used to live, found out she gave her daughter a small, heart-shaped tattoo near her right shoulder. "She asked me to do it," said Clay. Clay said she numbed her daughter's arm for the procedure and her daughter was never in pain. Clay said she did not know that tattooing a minor is illegal and is due in court next month. [NBCNEWS]
